Beginner’s Dressmaking Course – Starts Saturday 4th May 2024


Classes will begin at 10:30am and finish at 4:30pm.

This is a 3 week course. Classes will begin on Saturday 4th May. The following two classes will be held on the 11th and the 18th of May.

This class teaches you how to start making clothes from paper patterns. It includes fabric and pattern selection, pattern reading and markings, cutting out, alterations to patterns as well as sewing and will include making a simple garment fitted to yourself.

All materials are included. Some basic machine sewing skills are required. Either use our sewing machines or bring along your own.

About Your Tutor

The tutor for this class is Izzy Gretton. Izzy is Remake’s Textile Coordinator and her position is funded by The Gannochy Trust. Izzy has a varied background, split between her passion for textiles and the outdoors. She runs her own textile business, The Highland Designer, which specialises in hat making and has a Textiles and Apparel degree from De Montfort University. Prior to starting at Remake she was General Manager at an outdoor adventure company. She is passionate about textile reuse and passing on sewing skills to the community.
